Quality firewood begins long before a log reaches your home. It starts with thoughtful woodland management, careful timber selection and the patience to let wood season properly.
Our firewood
Our seasoned logs are sourced through carefully managed woodland and forest estates. We primarily select ash affected by ash dieback and silver birch, making practical use of timber removed through ongoing woodland management.
Ash has long been valued as firewood for its dependable heat, while silver birch lights readily and gives a lively flame. Together they make excellent fuel when cut, split and given enough time to season.
Our process
We work with carefully managed woodland and forest estates, choosing suitable hardwood as part of responsible woodland care. Much of our firewood comes from ash affected by dieback, alongside silver birch and other appropriate hardwoods.
Selected timber is brought back for processing, where it is cut and split into practical firewood sizes. We offer consistent log lengths from approximately 8 to 12 inches, with particular sizes available by request.
The logs are stacked and given the time and airflow they need to season properly. We do not rush this stage: reducing moisture helps the wood light more easily, burn more efficiently and produce dependable heat.
Once ready, the logs are checked, packed into bulk bags and prepared for local delivery from South Godstone. The result is straightforward, reliable winter fuel from a local family business.
Why seasoning matters
Wet wood uses valuable heat simply to drive off moisture. Properly seasoned firewood is easier to light, burns more consistently and helps you get better performance from your stove, open fire or fire pit.
